The Rotary Club of Maraval continues to support other Clubs in the Rotary family through attendance at their events and meetings. As such under this year's theme by RI President Mark Maloney, we have begun the " Rotary Maraval Connect to the World" series which will highlight our members as they attend other Club events and fellowship in fine style.

This month we continue our feature on the following stories:

RC Central POS Movie Premiere - Gemini Man - Tuesday 8th October, 2019

The Rotary Club of Maraval supported the fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of Central POS at its Movie Premiere Fundraiser on Tuesday 8th October at 7pm at Movie Towne POS. The event was enjoyable and we wish RC Central POS all the best in its initiatives.

33rd Charter Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Point Fortin - 9th October 2019

A trio of Maraval ladies braved the almost 5 hour commute to Point Fortin to join 13 other clubs in commemorating the great milestone of 33 years celebrated by the Rotary Club of Point Fortin. We were fortunate to be graced with the presence of DG Trevor Blake who delivered the keynote address. Happy Charter Point Fortin!!

Joint meeting with the Rotary Club of POS - Tuesday 22nd October

With 15 members strong and 1 guest, the Rotary Club of Maraval was out in its numbers to attend the joint meeting hosted by the Rotary Club of POS on Tuesday 22nd October at the Goodwill Industries. No stranger to our Club, the guest speaker His Excellency Tim Stew, British High Commissioner, delivered a brief but thorough speech on the topic "Security Partnership between the United Kingdom and Trinidad and Tobago". Though plagued by several unforeseen circumstances, the meeting was both informative and provided a great avenue for us to meet up with our Rotary POS members.

World Polio Day Event - RC Chaguanas - Thursday 24th October, 2019

The Rotary Club of Chaguanas took the lead in opening up to all Clubs their World Polio Event which allowed for the Rotary Club of Maraval to not only be one of 10 Clubs represented but also to gain much needed knowledge on the status of our organisation's fight to eradicate polio. The guest speaker, Rotarian Raj Jadoo, who was absolutely passionate about Rotary's efforts to fight polio, shared on his personal experience with Polio having gone on several NID trips and also shared pertinent information on what more is needed. The formalities were soon follows by a Dutch Auction that went well over the usual time as persons bid enthusiastically on the local painting done by Mr. Damien Moore. Our very own Paula Baldwin, guest of PP Marie, was the winner of one of the door prizes. The evening was definitely  filled with great fellowship for a great cause as all proceeds from this event will go towards PolioPlus. Several members of our Club wore purple on the day to bring awareness to this cause.
