Why donate to The Rotary Foundation
During the past 100 years, the Foundation has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects making lives better around the world including in our district and here at the Rotary Club of Maraval. It is worth noting and indeed commendable that more than 90 percent of donations go directly to assist our 35,000 clubs as they undertake sustainable service projects that support our six causes.
What impact can one donation have
It can save a life. A child can be protected from polio with as little as 60 cents. Our partners make your donation go even further, e.g., for every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $2. Another example - $24 is all it takes to provide 1 person with access to safe water.

Clean water and sanitation
It is a human right. When people, especially children, have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they lead healthier and more successful lives.
Rotarians make amazing things happen, like:
- Strengthen the ability of communities to develop, fund, and maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems.
- Support professional studies and provide training.
- Create tools and resources that facilitate, measure, and enhance high-quality water and sanitation projects worldwide.
We don’t just build wells and walk away. Rotary members integrate water, sanitation, and hygiene into education projects. When children learn about disease transmission and practice good hygiene, they miss less school. And they can take those lessons home to their families, expanding our impact.
The Global Challenge
Rotary has issued a global challenge to its members, asking them to work with communities to improve teacher training, curriculum, and water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities. Again I encourage you to make a contribution directly to our president or on the Rotary Website. The Rotary Foundation transforms our gifts into life transforming projects.
