Induction of PP Maureen Aarons into the RC Providenciales
July 23rd 2020

The Rotary Club of Maraval was chartered on May 4th 1993. The Charter members were all women, however, men were incorporated to the membership shortly after.

At the time, in its 22 year history, the Club been known for being dynamic, head strong and committed to Rotary’s core values and therefore on May 25th 2015 when PP Marie Dalton Brown sponsored Maureen Aarons for membership, a more perfect fit to our Club could not have been found.

PP Maureen jumped at the opportunity to serve and with her bold and natural charisma added to our Club’s fire to ensure that we continued on our journey in Rotary service with just a sprinkle more innovation and a lot more of passion. For someone who shares their birthday with Rotary’s founder Paul Harris, we certainly expected no less!!

In just two years as a member, Maureen served as our Club’s President in 2017-18 where she single handedly coordinated our 25th anniversary celebrations, the likes of which our Club has never seen before. From encouraging new members such as myself, Adanna and IPP Marcia to take up board positions and future leadership roles, to revamping our club’s signature fundraiser Jazz Under the Stars, which is now one of the most in-demand Jazz festivals in Trinidad and Tobago, to cementing our relationships with our sister Club Rotary Club of Princes Town and the wider Rotary family in the Caribbean, Maureen’s leadership has left the Rotary Club of Maraval lacking for nothing.

When advised that PP Maureen would be moving with her family to Turks and Caicos, we all felt the immediate disappointment. However, we had no doubt that wherever she would go, that we would remain part of her family and that her Rotary light would continue to shine brightly and provide light for others around her.

To our PP Maureen, we love you and are greatly enthused to be here, though virtually, to witness you continue on your Rotary journey. We know the Rotary Club of Providenciales has welcomed you with open arms and will treasure all that you have to offer. Continued strength and peace to you in all that you do.

Thank you!
